The Evolution of Satelite Navigation

The Evolution of Satelite Navigation
Everyone was amazed when the likes of Garmen, Navman and Tom Tom brought out GPS, but it has been taken one step further with 3D satellite navigation.

Throughout the last year we have seen a few attempts but nothing to get excited about until now.

The latest from Tom Tom will be released sometime in 2009 and will offer over 1,000 European landmarks in 3D, like Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower. So for all the Euro-challenged amongst us, you can now follow directions by looking at the dramatic 3D graphics on a brilliant 4.3 inch screen.

In addition, the intelligent new Local Search service connects the S50 3D to the Local Search network via Bluetooth, giving local information on interesting places to visit, shops and services, hotels and restaurants and much more, wherever you are. And Bluetooth hands-free calling makes the S50 3D the smart choice for business as well as personal use.

Looks like some things are worth waiting for after all.
